Uncle Chip, a senior cat with a heart full of fight, survived the harsh streets of Oklahoma as his eyesight faded and his body grew weary. Despite his determination, life outside was far from easy—and it was clear he needed help.
Everything changed during a fierce winter storm, when a kind-hearted citizen spotted the aging feline and brought him to the Watonga Community Cat Foundation.
There, rescuers discovered that Uncle Chip wasn’t just struggling with poor vision. He also had arthritis, chronic ear infections, and occasional incontinence. He was placed on daily medication and welcomed into a caring foster home where he could finally rest and heal.
His foster mom says, “Uncle Chip is a wonderful guy who loves taking naps with me and keeping an eye on everything happening around the house.”
One quirky thing about Uncle Chip? He’s incredibly picky when it comes to food. He turned his nose up at both dry and wet cat food, until his foster mom discovered his favorite: donated Friskies Party Mix treats.

Thanks to generous donations, those snacks are always on hand for him. “Uncle Chip is delighted to have them available whenever he needs a snack,” shared the rescue team. “Next to finally being safe and loved, we believe Party Mix is his favorite thing.”
Now, Uncle Chip is living the life he always deserved, warm, safe, and surrounded by love.
Sadly, many senior cats like him are often overlooked in shelters, waiting longer for homes while enduring stressful conditions. You can help change that. Consider donating a care pack to comfort these loving seniors as they wait for their forever families.
